As a Technical Developer, you will play a pivotal role ensuring the fit and quality of our product is maintained from design to bulk production, meeting all company wide standards and critical deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the design team to interpret and develop production ready products meeting company’s standards and vision.
  • Understand design and fit intent of garment.
  • Develop, update, and maintain effective spec packages, measurements, and grading.
  • Identify potential production issues in fit and quality and make appropriate recommendations while maintaining deadlines and creative intent
  • Ensure consistent execution of Gentle Fawn’s quality and fit standards
  • Communicate product requirements to the factory.
  • Create spec packages, measure, and inspect samples to ensure product requirements and standards are met.
  • Lead proto fittings with the design team. Recognize and correct fit problems. Ensure fitting protocol is followed, including full range of movement, suggest appropriate solutions to improve the product.
  • Problem solve and communicate fit, construction, washing and fabric issues as they arise.
  • Quality check for consistency in sizing, functional trims, and construction across product range.
  • Communicate sample and pattern requirements to factory.

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts; Fashion Design & Technology.
  • Experience in product development, apparel industry standards, garment fit and production appropriate construction techniques.
  • Pattern making background is an asset.
  • Advanced Illustrator and Excel skills.
  • Understanding of development and production processes in all categories - Knit, Woven, Fully Fashioned
  • Demonstrated ability in effectively communicating with factories and vendors
  • Ability to work & communicate efficiently with internal and external teams in a positive and professional manner
  • Proven work ethic- responsible, dependable, and consistent.
  • Strong team player, knowledge of x-functional team accountabilities and requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Ability to optimize processes to meet all deadlines

As a Senior Product Developer, you will play a pivotal role ensuring the fit and quality of our product is maintained from design to bulk production, meeting all companywide standards and critical deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and support junior and mid-level Product Developers across the company.
  • Partner with executive teams to improve process and procedures for the Product Development department.
  • Develop, improve, and elevate fit standards. Lead cross functional teams; meeting seasonal timelines; anticipate and prevent issues and provide solutions.
  • Manage and schedule fittings, ensuring fitting protocol is followed, including full range of movement.
  • Manage proto and PP sample logistics.
  • Assist with on boarding all new vendors.
  • Co-ordinate hiring, onboard and train new fit models. Ensure models remain within standard tolerances. Guide team in understanding models variances compared to company standards.
  • Identify potential production issues in fit and quality and make appropriate recommendations while maintaining deadlines and creative intent.

We are looking for assistance during our Spring/Summer 2023 ecommerce photoshoot happening this June. As photoshoot assistant, you will be supporting our marketing team with general photoshoot prep and execution.

This is a temporary, paid position. Contract would start as early as May 30th and would end June 10th, 2022. Regular office hours apply (8:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday to Friday). Exact start and end time are subject to change.

Gentle Fawn is looking for a Female Fit model to join our team. This is a part time casual position, and the hours depend on the time of year. Hours must be FLEXIBLE and available during business hours 9:30am-5pm, Tuesday-Friday. Fit sessions usually last from 3-7 hours and approximately 1-3 days/week. This position requires you to provide feedback on fit, comfort and movement to assist our Designers and Product Developers in developing well-fitting styles that are appropriate for our customers.

Ideal Candidate
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time while maintaining good posture
  • Must be comfortable with fitting garments in front of a group of people.
  • Commenting on fit of garment from a customer’s point of view of comfort
  • Available for flexible working hours
